So, sooo much to say! I thought it was excellent, other than not enough Sirius and a bit short. But I knew that they would never have enough Sirius to keep me happy before I went to the movie. Here's my pros/cons list:

Cons:
1. Not enough Sirius.
2. No Walburga portrait.
3. The pensieve scene became a flashy reading of Snape's mind. No need to change young Sirius' lame hair then, Kash.
4. No Snape and Sirius bickering, other than Snape saying, via the extendable ears, to Sirius that Harry could wind up a felon like Sirius.
5. I wish they would've done more of Umbridge grilling the professors, although what they did was fairly good. I especially liked the quarrel between Minerva and Dolly.
6. I think in trying to make Sirius seem like the father Harry never had, we saw little of Sirius' moodiness. But I think they were trying to take a dark book and lighten it with humor (no one else was laughing in the theater except me) and the will of the DA to fight. I'll deal with Sirius separately.....
7. They left out the mirror and Regulus which will leave us baffled for the next week......

Pros:
1. Humor. When they first showed Dolly's office with all the mewing kittens I cracked up. Imelda was wonderful.
2. Music much better than GOF. It needed to be to get across some things that were composited. I liked how they had some rock music playing in the common room.
3. They didn't show much of 12 Grimmauld Place, but it did seem like a mausoleum (sp?) which is signifigant for Sirius.
4.The flight through London.
5. Luna was very sweet and I'm glad they included the bit at the end with her shoes.
6.Cho and Harry's kiss was a better snog than I expected.
7. Tonks was great, what little there was of her.
8. Filch was totally lusting after Dolly.
9. Snape was hating sitting next to her in the Great Hall.
10. Voldemort in a suit at the train station.
11. The DOM was quite good with all the prophecies smashing and the battle was portrayed well, even if things were left out.
12. Bella and Lucius are totally having it off. I liked how Lucius gets this look on his face like, "you are so like your sister."
13. The big Fudge banner was totally like communistic Lenin, which I've maintained as my opinion of the Ministry.

Now just comments on Sirius:
1. Gary did a great job with what little he was given to work with.
2. Sirius in the fire was way better than GOF.
3. In the kitchen, you got the distinct impression that Sirius was acting as a rebel without bickering. Everyone else just eyes him, except Moody who warns him by saying his name sharply.
4. I loved Sirius' winks and hugs.
5. I loved how Sirius was the hero/leader at the DOM and punched Lucius! That was right out of my own fic!
6. I liked the attention they at least gave to him being pseudo tortured by Voldemort.
7. And of course Sirius is a Scottish Deer hound. I've said that all along.
8. At Christmas, the Weasleys are all celebrating with presents and Sirius is standing alone lingering out in the hall. This was one of the subtle ways they showed his isolation and loneliness.
9. I'm glad he said he misses James everyday. Note; James and not James and Lily.
10. I liked it that Sirius gave the photo to Harry as an inspiration for the DA.
11. The tapestry scene, though less revealing, did again show Sirius alone. It seemed to me, he hates his family, but he seemed to also regret things, wishing they were different.
12. Sirius decks Lucius! Yeah! It was interesting how ethereal and slow motion he slipped into the veil. Then more slow motion with Lupin holding back a yelling Harry. I was so stunned and then it really hit me. I was sobbing to myself, NO! NO! Sirius! NO! It would go away and then come back. My insides ached.
13. Last thing for now....Am I daft or did Sirius say "James" somewhere in that last 10 seconds before the veil claimed him? I gotta go see it again......

Here's another little thought I had......

If you don't read the books, what do you know about the veiled archway from the movie? Not much I'd say, considering it's supposed to return in Deathly Hallows. Does anyone beside Voldemort say Sirius is dead? And who can take his word? I mean not much was made of Sirius actually being dead and they did make a particular point (a brighter one) about what Luna said at the end and they re-worded it for a reason I'm sure. Something to the effect of "They'll come back, they always do in the end" and then they added "Just not where you'd expect." In the book she and Harry talk about the veil at that time. So why didn't they in the movie?

Yeh I didn't get that. If you don't read the books I think you miss out on alot. Er.....don't tell me that that means Sirius is dead and not coming back. Also, don't say this to Kash or you'll have both of us on a brief tirade

I'm in utter agreement with you, Kash, on all your points. Big surprise there. JKR also said that she did what she did to Sirius to introduce the veil.....meaning it comes back. So why wouldn't Sirius come back with it?
