Amazon.com has managed to write review of all the stories in The Tales of Beedle the Bard. These can be found here.
Now, for the challenge: select a tale, read the reviews, and write your own version of it (just for fun, not for profit, of course). Or...if you have an idea
for a "Beedle the Bard" story of your own, feel free to write that and submit it as well (I do value creativity).
Guidelines:
1. Entries must be posted by June 30 in order for your house to be awarded points.
2. Be as creative as you want. It is OK with me if you want to make the story less sketchy by naming unnamed characters and adding a few other details.
3. We're a small club, and there are only four stories (five if you count "The Tale of the Three Brothers," but since Rowling has already beat us
to the punch there I really don't know if it should be included in the contest). I don't mind two people want to write their own versions of the same
story; in fact, I encourage it. But please choose a story that no one else has chosen before you write one that has already been covered.
4. House Points: 100 points if you're the first person covering a particular story; 50 points if you're covering the story after that (these
will be chosen on a first come, first serve basis). 100 points will be also be awarded for original entries.
5. Try to keep these stories to no more than 2000 words.
6. Try to follow the storylines as closely as possible.
7. Post the stories in the subcategory "Fanfic Challenges" to make it easy for me to find.
